How many times have you heard a variation of one of these?
“I just can’t right now.”
“I didn’t think I could pull it off.”
“I shouldn’t, it seems like something I can’t manage.”
“I still need to practice more, it won’t be good.”
“I’m not smart enough to make this happen!”
Too many times to count, right? It’s probably coming from people you think of as highly capable and/or highly talented.
Or maybe you’re saying them to yourself!
Either way, that little inner critic is rearing its ugly head and stifling creativity and the ability to get the work done.
Well, I’m here to tell you that you are WORTH IT.
You are GOOD ENOUGH.
I can keep saying it until I’m blue in the face, but we need to get you to a space where you believe it, too.
The 3 Self Doubt Types
#1 — The Inner Critic/Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
This nasty little guy is essentially a lack of kindness. You aren’t treating yourself as well as you would treat virtually anyone else, telling yourself over and over that you just aren’t capable of greatness. At some point, you’re gonna start believing it!
#2 — The Self-Saboteur
This is also known as procrastination station. You know exactly what you need to do to git ‘er done, but you find other small tasks to get in the way. It can snowball into a real logistical mess.
#3 — Imposter Syndrome
This is the one where you feel like a fraud, always in disguise and hiding your real, incapable self. It’s just as nasty as the other two.
Entrepreneurship is tough, it can suck, and it can lead to real mind games. But the fact is that there’s healthy self doubt (the stuff brought on by logic and a solid understanding of how the world works,) and unhealthy self doubt. That’s the ish you make up just to get in your own way.
Here’s my challenge: if any of those 3 types of self-doubt above plague you on the regular, I want you to do something about it.
I want you to find the root cause.
Babes, not believing in ourselves always stems from something. It started somewhere . . . as a child, from experiences with an old job or an old boss, from our parents, from SOMETHING. I want you to watch my latest Facebook Live, because I talk about these issues and how to overcome them.
